Three Successful Children
I don't know if you remember us, but I saw you with our three children, Alan, Joseph and Ellen about 12 years ago, I think. I thought I'd give you an update. The work you did with our children and that you had us doing with them made such a wonderful difference, and now they are all doing well and very close to each other, as well as to us.
Alan (29 years old) is married and expecting their first child in three weeks (and out first grandchild). He graduated from Harvard Law School in 2010, and a law school friend and he started Avesta Communities, in Tampa, FL, which has grown to be a very successful company with a very good reputation. He's really become a delightful young man.
Joseph (28 years old) graduated from Calvin Seminary in 2013 and was ordained as a pastor this past April. He's pastor of New Hope Church (a fairly recent church plant) in Bangor, Maine.
Ellen (26 years old) graduated from Calvin College in 2010 and then worked for The Fold Family Ministries in Vermont for three years. She has been working with Beautiful Brokenness Ministries in Virginia this past year, and next year she'll be going back to school to get a degree in Christian counseling.
I have been wanting to touch base with you for some time, as I figured it would be encouraging to hear how much your work impacted our family. I hope all is well with you and your family.
