Julie Meekins knows first hand the agonizing struggles and the intense joys of raising children with disabilities -- physical disabilities and learning disabilities. Her journey in the special needs world began in 1995 with the birth of her fourth child. Since that time, out of desperate attempts to help her children, Julie has gained an incredible amount of practical knowledge and experience. She began working a neurodevelopmental (ND) plan with her infant daughter and extended it to her other three children. Because of the tremendous progress she noted in all of her children, she was led to open an ND branch in the Maryland area. Working in a volunteer support role for several years, she taught other parents how to implement a home-based plan specifically designed for their children. After implementing the individual plans for her own children for many years and teaching and supporting families with children with all kinds of issues, Julie was encouraged to take her knowledge and experience to the next level by completing the necessary training to become a certified neurodevelopmentalist. She is now evaluating and developing individual plans for children so they and their families can have the necessary tools to help them reach their God-given potential.
